Construction Worker's Dream Come True
On Italian TV a guy uses a giant mechanical shovel to slowly strip off a woman's clothes. This is why roads never get fixed in Italy ...
Having lived and grown up in Europe I can tell you all about the road crews in Italy and Germany. At least as they were in the 70's and 80's.
In Germany when ever you pass roadwork you will see the guys working very hard. Practically day or night they're digging and paving and everything. Yet if you pass by the same stretch of road a few weeks later the work has advanced maybe a kilometre or two.
In Italy when ever you pass a road crew they're on break. Or lunch. Or nap-time. The machines are idle and it nice and calm. Pass the same site a couple of weeks later and they road has been fixed for tens of kilometres. And the crew will still be on break.
This has led us to believe that the Germans get paid hourly while the Italians get paid by the meter.
Or something like that.
