Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient

Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient - "PO2 (EOD2) Mike Monsoor, a Navy EOD Technician, was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously for jumping on a grenade in Iraq, giving his life to save his fellow SEALs."

This has been floating around the 'Net since the summer but it still needs to be told. This is the kind of thing that should be front-page, headline news. In a year when we were all preoccupied with gas prices and the stock market here's a man who gave everything to save the lives of others. The current economic and financial problems are all caused by greed; gouging profits out of every little thing. Even in this so-called time of giving it's all about money.

Petty Officer Monsoor is a blinding example of how selfless one can be. When selfishness isn't the primary (if not the only) motivation for our actions it elevates us all.
