"Worse Than a Nightmare" and "Wrong Track Distress"

Here are a couple of Op-Ed pieces from the NY Times columnist Bob Herbert.

Worse Than a Nightmare
Published: June 25, 2010
"President Obama can be applauded for his decisiveness in dispatching the chronically insubordinate Stanley McChrystal, but we are still left with a disaster of a war in Afghanistan that cannot be won and that the country as a whole will not support."

Wrong Track Distress
Published: June 28, 2010
"It’s getting harder and harder for most Americans, looking honestly at the state of the nation, to see the glass as half full. And that’s why the public opinion polls contain nothing but bad news for Barack Obama and the Democrats."

I am not advocating for or against his point-of-view. It is an interesting one, though, and worthy of discussion.
